One of your ideas has been delivered from your suggestion.Ability to Allocate Inventory with Lock Codes on an Order

In this release, we’ve enhanced your ability to allocate inventory by handling the transfer of locked as well as unlocked LPNs to different facilities. This is achieved by configuring the new screen parameter "order_type_lock_code_match_behavior" for the RF Direct Allocation and RF Pick and Allocate transactions.

This enhancement gives you increased flexibility in inventory allocation by considering any unlocked and other eligible locked inventory against the specified order type, in addition to option of considering only the eligible locked inventory.

For example, warehouse operations may have scenarios where a large amount of inventory needs to be set aside for quality checks before it can be allocated to customer orders. These quality checks can take an extended period, and the inventory might occupy crucial floor space that be better utilized for more urgent and/or contiguous transactions. This enhancement allows operators to move such inventory to a different facility to be held until the quality checks are completed, meanwhile maintaining the Lock Codes that protect it from allocations.

You can accomplish this by allocating LPNs that may or may not have lock codes listed on the Order Type field "Eligible Lock Codes for Allocation". You can also choose to have a "strict" allocation for such facility transfers by considering only the eligible locked inventory.

The following table describes the system behavior for the order_type_lock_code_match_behavior parameter based on the selected options:

Parameter Behavior

eligible-locked-inventory

This restricts the allocation to only the LPNs having their Lock Code(s) listed on the Order Type field "Eligible Lock Codes for Allocation".

unlocked-or-eligible-locked-inventory

This allows for the allocation and shipping of LPNs having their Lock Code(s) listed on the Order Type field "Eligible Lock Codes for Allocation", as well as any other LPNs that do not have any lock codes.

NOTE:

  • When a value isn’t specified for the parameter, the system honors the allocation by considering only eligible locked inventory whose lock codes are specified on the Order Type field "Eligible Lock Codes for Allocation".

  • During allocation, the system will always consider the lock code priority that is configured in the Lock Code UI, irrespective of whether you set the Company Parameter "Honor Lock Code Priority " set as Yes/No.

Steps to Enable

To enable allocation and shipping of inventory of LPNs with/without Lock Code(s) listed on the Order Type field "Eligible Lock Codes for Allocation":

  1. Go to Modules > RF Direct Allocation (rf.outbound.cwrfdirectallocation) or RF Pick and Allocate (rf.outbound.cwrfpickandallocateorder).
  1. Click on Screen Parametersorder-type-lock-code-match-behaviour.
  1. Enable the unlocked-or-eligible-locked-inventory parameter option.
