Support WMS Integration To FedEx REST Web Services
FEDEX INTERNATIONAL - REQUEST CHANGES FOR INTEGRATION TYPE
Integration with parcel carriers allows for real-time tracking of shipments, minimizes shipping costs, and maximizes overall operational efficiency. Fedex has introduced REST Webservices as its new integration mechanism and WMS cloud now supports this integration type. The earlier FedEx SOAP integration continues to be supported in WMS, but customers are urged to migrate to REST per recommendation from FedEx.
For the new integration type, Ship Request is now converted to support FedEx for REST Webservices.
When the new integration type is chosen for parcel integration with FedEx International, REST is supported for the following:
- Commodities
- Commercial Invoice
- Customs Broker
- Tins
- Total Customs Value
- Duties
- Dry Ice
- Hazmat
- Multi-Piece Shipment
NOTE: REST Web Services does not allow individually manifesting a group of containers as part of a Multi-Piece Shipment (MPS) that all have the same master tracking number. Currently, we can manifest all of the containers on an order that is submitted, but they will not have the same master tracking number.
NEW FIELDS AND INTEGRATION TYPE ADDED TO THE CARRIER FACILITY UI
To support FedEx Integration for REST Webservices, the following additional fields and values are now available in the Carrier Facility UI:
- The drop-down value 'FedEx REST Webservices' is added to the Integration Type drop-down field.
- Fedex Webservices is renamed to 'FedEx Legacy Webservices'. (which corresponds to the SOAP UI).
FedEx REST Webservices
FEDEX DOMESTIC - VOID AND SHIP REQUEST CHANGES FOR INTEGRATION TYPE
In the Carrier Facility UI, for the Integration Type FedEx REST Webservices, the following items have been added:
- For the new FedEx REST Integration type, adding the following:
- New Ship request for REST
- New void de-manifest request for REST.
- New auth request for REST
- New entries for celery task and all the related integration steps.
FIELDS ADDED TO SHIP VIA ACCOUNT DETAIL UI
In order to assist users with Ship Via account detail configurations, we've added the following fields to the Ship Via Account Detail UI:
- client id code
- client secret code
- discount code
NOTE: Ship via account details are also useful for having more than one account for a single location (for example, for scenarios where there are two warehouses at a single location.)
UPDATE to UOM DIMENSIONS for FedEx, UPS, and ConnectShip
We’ve added flexibility to UOM dimensions for FedEx, UPS, and Connectship for both imperial and metric units of measure.
The new UOM logic is as follows:
- The order of Facility dimension UOM has the highest Priority. The system will check to see if it is centimeters (CM) or inches (IN) and if not, fall back.
- The system will check the Company dimension UOM to see if it is centimeters (CM) or inches (IN) and if if not, fall back.
- The default UOM is set to inches
NOTE: We have removed the PARCEL-DIMENSIONS-UOM company parameter.
Integration with parcel carriers allows for real-time tracking of shipments, minimizes shipping costs, and maximizes overall operational efficiency. Fedex has introduced REST Webservices as its new integration mechanism and WMS cloud now supports this integration type.
