Oracle Business Network (OBN)

This feature serves as the OTM initial connection to the Oracle Business Network (OBN).  OBN is a secure cloud-based Business-to-Business (B2B) collaboration platform that automates electronic transactions between Oracle application customer's and their trading partners.  The initial connection to OBN is focused on the External Rating Engine connection use case.  Going forward, the plans are to rapidly grow the partner network and extend the supported connections to cover the entire end-to-end life cycle for any and all transportation transactions including rate inquiry, spot rating, planning, booking/tendering, tender accept/decline, conditional booking, tracking events, invoice receipt, and payment.

    • Define OB Sender ID and OBN Receiver ID
  • Follow the steps provided within the Oracle Business Network Process Guide for establishing your connection to the Oracle Business Network Trading Partner - with 24C the available OBN Trading Partner for OTM is Uber Freight - and the enabled flow is designed to support the External Rating Engine connection use case.

Tips And Considerations

Note that the OTM Uber Freight External Rating Engine connection use case is already supported outside of OBN as a point-to-point integration.  The existing integration supports the External Rating  Engine flow as well as supporting the Tendering use case.  More information about the current integration is available on the Uber Freight website https://www.uberfreight.com/blog/uber-freight-and-oracle-partner-to-further-supply-chain-transformation/
