AES Filing Enhancements

This feature provides enhancements to the AES Filing capability. Based on regulatory changes, the AES Template related to the X12.601 Customs & Border Protection (CBP) - Export Shipment Information specification is updated:

  • Support for the following BIS License Codes is added:
    • C65 for Temporary General License (TGL)
    • C66 for Supply Chain Authorization Letter (SCAL)
    • C67 for Exports Authorized Under Authorization Type Notified Advanced Computing (NAC) - This license exception code is used for certain ECCN codes. A confirmation number must be entered into the Authorization field.
    • C68 for License Exception Notified Advanced Computing (NAC) - This license exception code is used for certain ECCN codes.
    • C69 for License Exception Medical Devices (MED) - This license exception code is used for EAR99.
    • C70 for Implemented Export Control (IEC) - This license exception code is used for certain ECCN codes.
  • To support the new response code of 25B - ULT CONS COUNTRY CANNOT BE US, the AES Filing template will only use the Ultimate Consignee Country = US for the United States (US) and Puerto Rico (PR). For other US territories such as Guam (GI), Marshall Islands (MI) and Virgin Islands (VI), the proper country code for the territory is used. If the country code for the Ultimate Consignee is GI, MI, or VI, GTM will not populate the Province Code in N402.
  • Ultimate Consignee State Code for Guam (GI), Marshall Islands (MI) and Virgin Islands (VI) would be null
  • Support for the following Exception Control Codes is removed:
    • C39/CTP
    • C47/APR
    • C48/KMI

As the regulations change for AES Filing, GTM is updated so that your export filing is in line with the current regulations ensuring compliance for your organization.
