One of your ideas has been delivered from your suggestion.Move Order to Multi-leg Shipments

The purpose of this enhancement is to allow the user to move an unplanned order to an equipment that is shared across multiple legs, so that the order is added to each shipment.  This feature enhances the existing Move Order to Existing Shipment action to support the multi-leg use case.

Each of the three shipments shares the same S-Equipment.

With the new enhancement, the user can choose the existing action Move Order to Existing Shipment and choose any of the three shipments.  The order will be added to all three shipments, and its S-Ship-Units will be added to the S-Equipment.  A new order movement for each leg will be created and assigned to its respective shipment.

The action is most likely to be used in a workbench.

Unsupported Cases

Unsupported Cases

The ability to add an order to a chain of shipments is very powerful.  The action saves many keystrokes for alternative means.  This is very direct.   The enhancement only works for cases where there are a series of shipments that handle a sealed container or truck.  It is common in planning to have shipments that are not fully packed and this action allows the client to add to those shipments.  The caveat is that the orders share the same origin and destination and that the container is packed and sealed at the origin and opened at the destination.   In OTM, the various shipments in the chain contain the same S-Equipment.   This allows the change to be made to any shipment in the chain and be reflected in all of the shipments on the chain.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

One must be very careful to not over-stretch the capabilities of this enhancement.   The business cases that are supported are very common.
