Enhancements to Shipment Request Prebuilt Integrations
Shipsets are a feature in Oracle Order Management which allow users to group and configure a set of order lines for a Sales order together so that they can be shipped together in the same shipment. To provide more seamless integration between Order Management, Warehouse Management, and Inventory Management, we've enhanced the following prebuilt integrations to include Shipset functionality in 25A:
- Oracle INV WMS Shipment Request with Shipset
- Oracle INV WMS Shipment Request
- Oracle INV WMS Order Lock-Unlock
- Oracle INV WMS Update Shipment Request
These integrations are now available on the Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) store. For more details refer to the following pages:
- Pre-built Integration between Oracle Fusion Cloud Warehouse Management and Oracle Fusion Cloud Inventory Management
- Integration Playbooks for SCM
In Oracle WMS, shipsets are modeled as a single order (Order Header.) All lines belonging to the same shipset will be detail lines (order details) of that order. The Order type will be configured so that the order is allocated together and is allowed to be shipped in the same load. There is a property on Order Header in Oracle WMS called “Group ref” that will be populated with the shipset name sent by Oracle Inventory.
All the change management of the shipset lines is also managed appropriately using the unqiue key to identify shipment request lines and also the shipset name. This includes change management scenarios like modifying a line, adding or removing a line from the shipset etc. Just like other non-shipset lines, shipset change management is also based on order locking and follows the same process. This way if shipset order lines are being fulfilled by Oracle WMS, then Oracle WMS ensures that shipset lines are shipped together in the same shipment.
