Committment Count "Exclusive" Checkbox

This feature provides you with the option of using the "Exclusive" checkbox on the Commitment Count screen to indicate that shipments which count towards this Commitment Count will not count towards the Commitment Allocation. By default, to maintain the previous functionality, the "Exclusive" checkbox is not selected. You will need to select the "Exclusive" checkbox to take advantage of this new logic.

Example of Exclusive Count

Business Situation

• There are dedicated carriers and common carriers.  
• You would like to use Commitment Count for the dedicated carrier, and Commitment Allocation for the common carriers.
• The shipments should first be assigned to the dedicated carrier upon to its commitment count, and then allocated across the common carriers according to the allocation percentages.
• The allocation percentage usage should reflect just the common carriers with the Commitment Allocations.
• The shipments that are assigned to the dedicated carrier should not count towards the commitment allocation usages.

Example

• Dedicated Carrier D has a Commitment Count of 3/day.
• Common Carriers X, Y, Z have Allocation percentages (set up by week):
  • X: 50%
  • Y: 30%
  • Z: 20%

On any given day, if there are at least 3 shipment, then 3 shipments should go to carrier D. The remainder should be allocated across carriers X, Y, Z, according to the 50/30/20 allocation.

• If there are 13 shipments:
  • Carrier D gets 3
  • Carrier X gets 5 (reported as 50%, i.e., 5 out of 10)
  • Carrier Y gets 3 (reported as 30%)
  • Carrier Z gets 2 (reported as 20%)
• If there are 23 shipments:
  • Carrier D gets 3
  • Carrier X gets 10 (reported as 50%, i.e., 10 out of 20)
  • Carrier Y gets 6 (reported as 30%)
  • Carrier Z gets 4 (reported as 20%)

Steps to Enable

Select the Exclusive checkbox on the Commitment Count screen.
