Expand RF Receive Single SKU Transaction for Location Prompt and Default Lock Code
To enhance the RF Receive Single SKU (rf.inbound.cwrfrecvsinglesku) transaction, we have introduced several improvements to streamline processes and optimize inventory management.
Firstly, you can now set a default lock code for the RF Receive Single SKU transaction. On setting a default lock code, the system automatically applies the default lock code for every received LPN, eliminating the need for manual entry.
Also, we have added location scanning functionality. During the RF Receive Single SKU transaction, you can now scan a location to store all received LPNs, making it easier to manage inventory and optimize space utilization.
This helps you with the following advantages:
- Error Prevention: Setting a default lock code ensures that inbound LPNs are applied with a lock code, reducing the chances of forgetting to lock critical items.
- Improved Efficiency: Integrating location scanning into the RF Receive Single SKU transaction simplifies the process, leading to improved inventory management.
- Optimized Space Management: Enabling to putaway inventory upon receipt maximizes the use of the receiving area, addressing space constraints.
- Unallocatable Lock Code Application: Applying an unallocatable default lock code makes the received LPNs are unallocatable until inspected.
- Accelerated Quality Control: With inventory properly organized, the inspection team can perform inspections promptly, expediting the entire receiving and quality control procedure.
To implement these enhancements, we have added the following new screen parameters to the RF Receive Single SKU screen:
Screen Parameter | Parameter Type | Screen Parameter Value/Parameter Choice | Behavior |
---|---|---|---|
default-lockcode |
Text |
Blank |
Default behavior: After receiving, the system doesn’t apply any default lock code on the received LPNs. |
Valid lock code |
After receiving, the system applies the configured default lock code on the received LPNs. |
||
prompt-location |
Selection |
Yes |
After scanning the required values for receiving IBLPNs, the system prompts to scan a location of type Dock/Reserve/Active. If you scan a location type other than the Dock/Reserve/Active or an active location for a pallet, the system displays an error message “Cannot putaway to location type %s”. After accepting the error message, the system re-prompts for a valid location. |
No or Blank |
Default behavior: After scanning the LPNs, the system doesn’t prompt for location. |
NOTE:
- If the Inbound Load is checked into a dock location, post receiving, the system skips the location prompt, as the IBLPNs are automatically updated with the dock location.
- When the screen parameter “palletize-upfront” is set to “Yes”, the system prompts for location after ending a pallet, and not for each received LPNs on the pallet.
- The system validates the scanned location, checking criteria such as Item Assignment Type and Allow Multi SKU. If the location scan is successful, the system updates the inventory accordingly and continues with the next step in the RF Receive Single SKU transaction.
- For the scanned location validation, the system skips check for Restrict Lot/Batch, Restrict Inventory Attribute, and location capacity (Max Units, Max LPNs, Max Weight, Min Volume, and Max Volume).
Steps to Enable
To automatically apply a lock code on every received LPN in the RF Receive Single SKU transaction, set a valid lock code in the screen parameter “default-lockcode”.
To prompt for a location in the RF Receive Single SKU transaction, set the screen parameter “prompt-location” to Yes.
