Advanced Sort

This feature provides you with the option to perform an Advanced Sort of your Enhanced Workbench Tables.  The Advanced Sort supports up to three columns of sorting - following a three-level sort pattern where the first attribute is sorted, then the sort is by the second selected attribute and then by the final third attribute.  You will find this feature useful in any situation where your columns and the data displayed would benefit from a multi-tiered sort view.   

The Advanced Sort option is located in the View menu option - as shown below.

In the example below, two of the available sort levels are used.  In this case, the first level Sort By is an Ascending sort of the Destination City column - in red, the second level Then By sort is an Ascending sort by the Total Gross Weight column - in blue.

Below is the result from the Advanced Sort configured above.  The sort starts with sorting Destination City column in Ascending order, column in red, and then within that first sort, the second level sort is an Ascending sort by the Total Gross Weight column - in blue.

In the example below, all three sort levels provided by the Advanced Sort are used.  In this example, all three of the available sort levels are used.  In this case, the first level Sort By is an Ascending sort of the Destination City column - in red, the second level Then By sort is an Ascending sort by the Total Gross Weight column - in blue and then the third level sort is a Descending sort of the Source City - in green.

Below is the result from the three level Advanced Sort configured above.  The sort starts with sorting Destination City column in Ascending order, column in red, and then within that first sort, the second level sort is an Ascending sort by the Total Gross Weight column - in blue and then the third level sort is a Descending sort of the Source City - in green.

The Advanced Sort works with your grouped tables.  In the example below, the grouped rows will be sorted by the Advanced Sort - by Volume, then Delivery Region and then by Destination City.

The Advanced Sort for the grouped table is shown below.   In this case, the first level Sort By is a Descending sort of the Volume column - in red, the second level Then By sort is an Ascending sort by the Delivery Region column - in blue and then the third level sort is a Ascending sort of the Destination City - in green.

In addition to the columns configured on the Screenset, the Advanced Sort also includes the option to sort by the Show On Map column and the Favorites column (Show On Map).

Business Benefit: This feature provides the ability for you to refine your search results by applying up to three levels of sorting. This allows you to easily group and order your data.

Steps to Enable and Configure

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

The Advanced Sort view is an Enhanced Workbench session specific feature, once you exit from your Enhanced Workbench, the Advanced Sort will not be saved for re-use in subsequent uses of the same Enhanced Workbench.
