Release License Reservation Balance via Process Management

This feature allows you to release reserved license balances back to the unreserved balance on a license. GTM enables you to reserve license quantity and value against a trade transaction, such as a sales order. Once the shipment is received, you can assign the appropriate license balance to the trade transaction. By using the Release Reserved Balances to Licenses process within Transactions > Process Management, you can move reserved balances back to the available balances across multiple licenses, streamlining license management.

In addition to the unused reserved balance being added back to the license line, details are also recorded in the License Line Usage History. In this example:

• Row 1: The Sales Order reserves 5 KG and 200 USD, resulting in a balance of 0 KG and 0 USD.
• Row 2: The Fulfillment Line assigns 3 KG and 50 USD. The unused portion of the reservation is 2 KG and 150 USD.
• Row 3: After running the Release Reserved Balance to License process, 2 KG and 150 USD are added back to the license.

Tips And Considerations

If you want to update the used balance on a license for a single license, you can use the existing Adjust Balance action on Licenses.
