Include Period In XID Restricted Characters

This Optional Feature, when enabled, will not allow XID fields to be entered with a period "." character.

With the "Include Period In XID Restricted Characters" enabled, the attempt to save an order release with the XID of NO.PERIOD will result in the following error message:

Business Benefit: This feature avoids issues that can occur when XIDs, that include a period, are incorrectly interpreted as GIDs.

Steps to Enable and Configure

If you need to change the Opt In state for this feature:

  • Go to the Optional Feature UI - Configuration and Administration > Property Management > Optional Features.

Your user must have the DBA.ADMIN user role to use this functionality.

  • Select the Include Period In XID Restricted Characters feature.
  • Run the Action to Opt Out, assuming there is an issue with the enabled functionality.
