Control Recount Prompt on the Mobile Cycle Count Location and Cycle Count LPN Transactions
When an inventory is counted with a discrepancy during Mobile Cycle Count Location (rf.inbound.cwrfcyclecountlocn) and Cycle Count LPN (rf.inbound.cwrfcyclecountiblpn) transactions, the system immediately prompts you to recount the inventory. However, in deferred mode, the system records discrepancy counts on the Cycle Count Adjustments UI, where the counts are verified or rejected for recounts. So, in deferred mode, it is time-consuming and auditors are forced to recount during transactions and validate the cycle count adjustments again. Sometimes, it may be counterproductive.
To provide more control over the recount prompt such as skipping the recount prompt during transactions, we have added a new screen parameter “allow-recount” to the Mobile Cycle Count Location and Cycle Count LPN transactions. This allows you to avoid unnecessary recount prompts.
The behavior of this screen parameter is outlined in the following table:
| Screen Parameter Configuration | Behavior |
|---|---|
| allow-recount = Yes or Blank | Default behavior: During the transaction, if any quantity, inventory, or LPN discrepancy occurs in cycle count, the system prompts for recount. Also, the system displays an info message to notify the discrepancy. |
| allow-recount = No | The system does not prompt for a recount. The system displays only an info message to notify the discrepancy. |
NOTE: In immediate mode, the system updates inventory changes on completing cycle counts. In this case, it is advisable to enable the recount prompt when a discrepancy occurs. This way, auditor is aware of the discrepancy and can perform recount.
ENHANCEMENTS TO ITEM-DRIVEN CYCLE COUNT
To alert auditor when one or more expected inventory lines for a SKU are not counted and the auditor ends the SKU count, we have added a new warning message to the item-driven cycle count flow. This prevents missing of uncounted inventory lines for a SKU at a location, reducing post-count discrepancies.
With this update, during an item-driven cycle count, if you press “CTRL-S: End SKU Count” hotkey without counting all expected batch, expiry, or inventory attribute records for the SKU, the system displays a warning message to the auditors.
This is applicable only for active location item-driven cycle counts, including both tasking and non-tasking item-driven cycle count (location-driven cycle count with “update-locn-invn-mode” = “Counted Items only”) modes.
NOTE: For consistency, we have renamed the “CTRL-D: End SKU Count” hotkey to “CTRL-S: End SKU Count” in item-driven cycle count tasking mode.
Example
Consider the following inventory records for SKU-A at location LOC-1:
| Location | Item | Quantity | Inventory Attribute-A | Inventory Attribute -B |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LOC-1 | SKU-A | 5 | ABC | XYZ |
| LOC-1 | SKU-A | 10 | 123 | 456 |
If you count only 5 units of SKU-A with Attribute-A = ABC and Attribute-B = XYZ and end the SKU count. Then, the system displays a warning message indicating that you have uncounted inventory lines (Attribute-A = 123 and Attribute-B = 456).
