AES Filing Enhancements
This feature enhances the AES Filing capability to address recent regulatory updates affecting the X12.601 Customs and Border Protection (CBP) - Export Shipment Information specification. As part of these updates, the BIS License Code C78 for Syria Peace and Prosperity (SPP) has been added to the default code mapping, AES FILING MAPPING DEFAULT, included with GTM. The "SPP" license exception code, applicable to EAR99, is now available in the code mapping’s Authorization and Exception Control Code sections, with a default external code of "C78".

Code Mapping
Business Benefit: This enhancement ensures that GTM’s AES Filing capability remains compliant with evolving regulatory requirements, specifically accommodating recent updates to CBP’s export shipment specifications. By adding the SPP (C78) license exception code for EAR99, organizations can efficiently submit accurate export filings, reduce compliance risks, and support timely international trade operations.
Steps to enable and configure

Tips and considerations
In addition to support for AES, code mapping can be used for other customs filings.
