Improvements to Packing Tasks Calling Post Packing OBLPN Updates and Handling
The Packing task flow has been enhanced to make the handoff into Post Packing OBLPN Updates and Handling more reliable and user-friendly by aligning the auto-scan behavior with the container-type configuration on the Post Packing screen. This update provides less confusion caused by container-type mismatches and faster, more accurate processing of LPNs and pallets in Post Packing workflows.
CONTAINER-TYPE AWARE AUTO-SCAN
When Packing passes a single container (an LPN or a pallet) into Post Packing, the system now evaluates the container-type setting on the Post Packing screen and automatically scans the correct container type when appropriate.
REDUCED TASK FAILURES
Previously, if Packing passed a pallet but Post Packing was configured for LPN processing, the flow could fail with “No Such LPN.” The enhanced logic prevents this mismatch from causing an unexpected stop.
If the passed container type and the screen’s container-type configuration don’t align (e.g., pallet passed while container-type = LPN), the system now presents an appropriate prompt or actionable error message to help you correct the issue and continue.
The following table shows the previous and new auto-scan behavior:
| Previous Program and Container Type | "Post Packing OBLPN Updates and Handling" screen container-type Configuration | Previous Behavior | New/Enhanced Behavior |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single LPN | Pallet | System auto scans the LPN# in the Pallet prompt field, hence the program fails with error "Invalid Pallet" | System will display the "Post Packing OBLPN Updates and Handling" - Pallet scan. This screen will not have the "Scanned Pallet" counter info field |
| Pallet with single LPNs | LPN/<Blank> | System auto scans the Pallet# in the LPN prompt field, hence the program fails with error "No Such LPN" | System will auto scan the LPN# and proceed with the "Post Packing OBLPN Updates and Handling" for the LPN |
| Pallet with multiple LPNs | LPN/<Blank> | System auto scans the Pallet# in the LPN prompt field, hence the program fails with error "Invalid Pallet" | System will display the "Post Packing OBLPN Updates and Handling" - LPN scan User should be able to scan each LPN on the pallet in this program to complete the process |
