Enhancements to SCM Reconciliation workbench for serial tracked items

The SCM Reconciliation Workbench gives warehouse users a centralized place to review integration errors and inventory differences between WMS and ERP Inventory. Earlier enhancements displayed integration failures, ERP and WMS inventory summaries, and inventory discrepancy records, including options to simplify discrepancy review by applying discrepancy computation rules.

WMS supports serial-level inventory reconciliation by fetching ERP on-hand and serial number information through the FBDI-based integration flow. This helps customers compare ERP inventory summary data with WMS inventory summary data for a given instance and identify inventory differences more accurately.

Optimized Data Retention for Inventory Reconciliation.

WMS now automatically manages retention for inventory summary and inventory discrepancy data used by the SCM Reconciliation Workbench. It retains the latest 2 sets run numbers for inventory summary data, including associated serial-number records. Inventory summary records from runs older than the latest 2 runs are automatically purged.

Inventory discrepancy records and their associated serial-number records are retained for 90 days, after which they are automatically purged.

For example, if the latest inventory runs are 102, 103 and 104, on new run, WMS creates 104, retains runs 103,  and purges run 102 and its associated serial-number records.

The purge is performed asynchronously and independently of inventory discrepancy calculation. If a purge operation fails, discrepancy processing isn't blocked; WMS retries the deletion during the next inventory synchronization run. To improve purge efficiency as data volumes, grow, the applicable inventory summary and serial-number tables are partitioned by run number.

Serial-Tracked in Inventory Reconciliation

Users can now view serial-level inventory summary and discrepancy information directly in the Redwood UI screen. This gives operations and inventory managers with great visibility when reconciling serial-tracked inventory between WMS and ERP. WMS provides the following enhancements:

  • Inventory Discrepancy – New optional serial_nbr_discrepancy column, with a hyperlink to view the associated serial details.
  • WMS Inventory Summary – New serial_nbr column.
  • ERP Inventory Summary – New serial_nbr column.
  • Input Interface – New ERP Serial Number option and associated stage table.
  • ERP Inventory Summary and ERP Serial Number stage tables now include the Run Number (run_nbr).
  • Reprocess Selected Records and Reprocess All Failed Records are disabled for the ERP Inventory Summary and ERP Serial Number stage tables.

The serial-related columns are hidden by default to keep the standard views streamlined and can be added when serial-level analysis is required.

Simplified ERP Job Reference Handling for Inventory Reconciliation

In 26D, we’ve improved ERP inventory reconciliation by allowing WMS to identify reconciliation runs using the unique ERP Job Reference Number. This reduces the need to pass company and facility details in API requests.

Following updates are made to the POST API:

  • Update to existing POST set_failed API: Only erp_job_reference_nbr is the required field. company_id_code, facility_id_code, and run_nbr are optional.
POST .../wms/lgfapi/v10/entity/wms_erp_inv_discrepancy_hdr/set_failed
  • Update set_erp_job_reference_nbr API: erp_job_reference_nbr and run_nbr are required; company and facility are optional.
POST.../entity/wms_erp_inv_discrepancy_hdr/set_erp_job_reference_nbr

For more information, refer to the WMS REST API guide.

  • New include_serial_nbr_flg column: Exposed through the ERP discrepancy header GET API, allowing integrations to determine whether serial-level inventory data is required. This column is populated when the Generate Inventory balance snapshot schedule job runs against the appropriate run_nbr.

Steps to enable and configure

  1. Configure the required inventory integrations.
  2. Ensure the new prebuilt integration for inventory reconciliation using file based processing is configured.
  3. Open Reconciliation Workbench.
  4. Add the optional serial-related columns in the Redwood UI when serial-level review is required.
  5. Review serial inventory discrepancies between WMS and Fusion Inventory.
