Independent Job Publish

Oracle Unity now allows data engineers and marketers to publish ingest, export, and segment delivery jobs independently of the full tenant publish cycle. This architectural change moves the publishing workflow from IT-admin-only actions to a self-service model for business users and data engineers.

Independent Publishing introduces per-job status tracking and job selection via checkboxes, allowing up to 7 jobs per request and monitoring of publish progress directly within Data Feeds or Segment Delivery pages.

This feature optimizes agility and responsiveness in business scenarios where jobs need to be updated or deployed rapidly without waiting for larger, organization-wide changes to be bundled.

Business Benefits:

  • Dramatically reduces turnaround times for publishing job changes, enabling faster campaign execution and data refreshes.
  • Reduces the reliance on IT or Data Master roles for everyday publishing, empowering marketers and data engineers.
  • Improves operational efficiency and adaptability for business teams deploying time-sensitive marketing and data initiatives.

Steps to Enable and Configure

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

  • Only ingest, export, and segment delivery jobs can be independently published; all other changes (like data model updates, source/destination alterations, or attribute changes) still require a full tenant publish.
  • Limit of 7 jobs per independent publish request, and up to 35 jobs in parallel across multiple requests per tenant.
  • The Publish button for a full tenant publish is only available to Admins or Data Masters; business and data engineer roles must select jobs to publish.
  • For newly provisioned tenants, a full tenant publish must be done initially before independent publishing can be used.
  • If a job is temporarily locked during publishing, re-publishing attempts will fail until the lock is released – this is to prevent data integrity issues.
  • Job sequence changes require a full publish.
