Enhanced Multiple-Card Support Across Devices

Oracle Responsys has expanded multiple-card support so that the same user can link the same card or reference from multiple devices and remain targetable on every device where the user is signed in.
Logout and card-delink processing now acts on the applicable device association without making the App Channel List record undeliverable. Other valid device associations remain available for targeting.

Device and Card Association Behavior

  • A user can sign in on multiple devices and link the same card or reference on each device.
  • Messages can continue to target all devices that retain an active association.
  • Logging out or delinking a card removes the corresponding user association for that device record.
  • A logout or delink operation doesn't mark the App Channel List record as undeliverable.
  • Multiple-card and single-card accounts use consistent logout and delink behavior.
  • The enhanced association model also supports multiple users signing in on the same device.

Business Benefit:

  • Maintain accurate targeting across a user's active devices while preventing a logout or card removal on one device from disrupting valid associations on other devices.

Steps to enable and configure

  • This enhancement builds on the capabilities introduced in 26B in is in Controlled Availability(CA). If you do not have the CA enabled, then you will need to open an SR (Service Request) with Oracle Support to request to have it enabled.
  • Otherwise, no additional steps are required to take advantage of this enhancement if you already have the CA enabled.

Tips and considerations

  • This behavior applies to accounts that use the multiple-card/user capability.
  • When validating an implementation, test one user on multiple devices and multiple users on the same device, including logout and card-delink flows.
