Run Query Reports in Smart View for Google Workspace

You can run an ad hoc query sheet as a report to fetch the cross joins between multiple members in row and column dimensions and to display all member combinations across the dimensions in a separate sheet.

Applies to: Planning and Budgeting, Close Management and Consolidation, FreeForm

Any regular ad hoc sheet can be treated as a query sheet. You can either type the dimensions and members directly in the sheet or select them using the Member Selector. Using the Run as Report option, you can run the query sheet to fetch a combination of all row and column members available on the sheet in a separate report sheet. The report sheet displays a grid consisting of combinations of all existing row and column members on the sheet, along with their data values.

If you want to display the cross joins for only specific members in the row or column dimensions, then use the below options:

  • Cross Join on Rows: Using this option, you can select the required row members and cross join them to display their combination in the same ad hoc sheet. Click Refresh to display the data values for the different row combinations.
  • Cross Join on Columns: Using this option, you can select the required column members and cross join them to display their combination in the same ad hoc sheet. Click Refresh to display the data values for the different column combinations.

Business Benefit: Users can create and run their own queries to create a query report containing a combination of row and column member values.
