Improved User Interface for Forms and Dashboards with Unresolved Standard User Variables
In cases where unresolved standard user variables are preventing a form or dashboard from opening, the user interface displays a message and a link to the user interface which enables you to resolve missing user variables.
Applies to: Planning and Budgeting, Close Management and Consolidation, Profitability and Cost Management, FreeForm, Tax Reporting
Currently, Oracle supports three types of user variables in forms:
- Standard
- Dynamic
- Context-sensitive
In 25.08, we introduced a feature enhancement that automatically sets default values for dynamic and context-sensitive user variables in Forms 2.0, Smart View Client, and Dashboards. Standard user variables, if undefined, still need user intervention to define missing values in preferences. If you're prevented from opening a form or dashboard because it includes missing member values, you'll be prompted to define values for the user variables that were set up by your administrator.
For forms or dashboards that include user variables that could not be resolved automatically, we're displaying a message which provides a link to the User Preferences page with the missing user variables displayed first.
"Before you can open this form, you must select a member for each User Variable. To select members for missing user variables: Click here"
Missing User Variables Message in the User Interface
When you click the link in the message, the User Preferences page opens in a new dynamic tab and the user variables with missing member values are displayed first.

Business Benefit: Displaying a message and providing a link to the user interface to resolve missing user variables simplifies the process for opening forms and dashboards with missing user variables.
