Enable High Volume Revenue Lines Cascading for Enhanced Performance

You can now achieve enhanced performance by simplifying opportunity revenue processing. You can now turn on the High Volume option to achieve performance gains during high volume opportunity revenue processing. There are a few key considerations as these performance gains come with some limitations in cascading behavior.

By enabling the high volume cascading logic, large performance improvements can be expected by customers that have opportunities with many revenue lines.

Steps to Enable

Use these steps to change the value of the Opportunity Synchronization Cascade Enabled (MOO_ENABLE_INSYNC_CASCADE) profile option.

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the following:
    1. Offering: Sales
    2. Functional Area: Sales Foundation
    3. Task: Manage Administrator Profile Values
  2. From the search region of the Manage Administrator Profile Values page, enter the profile option code name MOO_ENABLE_INSYNC_CASCADE in the Profile Option Code field.
  3. Click Search.
  4. Change the value of the profile option to High Volume.
  5. Click Save and Close.

Optionally, you can  specify the threshold number of opportunity revenue lines for the high volume cascade process. If the number is more than the threshold set, then the high volume cascade process will apply. Search for the ORA_MOO_HV_REV_THRESHOLD_CASCADE profile option and change its value to the desired number of saved revenue lines an opportunity should have to qualify for high volume cascading logic.

Tips And Considerations

There are a few key considerations to determine whether using this feature will help your business:

  • If you have field triggers defined for revenue lines, these field triggers won't be invoked for opportunities above the threshold
  • If you have signals based on revenue lines, these signals won't be generated for opportunities above the threshold
  • If you have customizations which update revenue lines when an opportunity is saved, expected performance improvements may not be achieved

Access Requirements

Users must have access to 'Setup and Maintenance' to turn on this feature. These are typically sales administrators. After the feature is turned on, it is an application-wide change.
