Update Billing Milestones in Active Subscriptions

You can now update the percentage value of the billing milestones and add new billing milestones in the Milestone Billing and Revenue Recognition template instance in a subscription. The percentage value of the unbilled milestone can be updated to indicate any change in your contractual terms. If a milestone is not relevant anymore, you can change the percentage to zero and add new billing milestones and generate the bill lines for the new milestone.

1. The percentage of the charge to be billed on completion of a milestone can be updated till the milestone is billed. So, you can update any change in billing terms without having to amend the subscription.
2. If there are new milestones identified, then you can add them in the active subscription without amending the subscription.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

1. Always click the action Generate the Billing Schedule lines after changing the billing milestones or adding a new billing milestone when subscription is in Draft status.
2. Always save after changing the billing milestones or adding a new billing milestone when subscription is in Active status.
3. The percentage of a milestone cannot be updated if the subscription is closed even with a future close date.
