View and Adjust Forecast by Product

Sales managers can view and adjust their forecast by the product lines they are responsible for, when forecasting by opportunity revenue. This forecast type uses opportunity revenue forecasting when your sales organization uses sales territories to assign opportunities.

When configuring forecasting for the opportunity revenue object and territory rollup hierarchy, your sales administrator defines whether to adjust the forecast by the territory, product, revenue category type dimension.

This feature allows sales managers to easily view their forecasts by key product lines.

Steps to Enable

1. As a Sales administrator, you must define the breakdown level for the forecast product group. By default this is level 4 of the product group hierarchy. You can update the product group level using a Rest Service call. 

2. When configuring forecasting for the opportunity revenue object and territory rollup hierarchy, you can select to adjust the forecast by the territory or product dimension.

Tips And Considerations

The product groups shown for each manager are based on the product dimension coverage of the manager's territory plus the product dimension coverage of descendant territories. 

By default, level 4 product groups included in the product dimension coverage are shown if the Show Products option is configured in forecasting.

Access Requirements

Once configured, this feature is available to sales managers who have the Manage Sales Forecast from Digital Sales (ZSF_MANAGE_DIGITAL_SALES_FORECAST) privilege and the View Sales Forecast from Digital Sales (ZSF_VIEW_DIGITAL_SALES_FORECAST) privilege.
