Include Rollup Attributes in Schedule Routines
You can now include rollup attributes in the actions and rules sections when you schedule routines. For example, rollup tables contain summary data so you can now create routines to inactivate accounts that haven't had any activity since they were created. Or you might want to send an email to account owners when key accounts haven't had the required activity in the past 3 months.
By including rollup attributes when scheduling Routines, administrators can create routines to view summary and aggregated data for more complex real world conditions. For example, they can set up a routine to notify the account owner when the total count of open critical service requests for an account and it's hierarchy exceeds 3.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
If you already use rollup tables, then the published rollup attributes are available when scheduling Routines. Rollups are considered by Routines as being an extension of the parent table, so published rollups are available in both actions and parent rule. Based on Routines and standard processing and Rollups:
- Published rollup attributes created in custom tables that are also updateable, can be selected in the Field Update
- Published rollup attributes created in standard Rollup tables, including custom attributes, are not available in Field Update
- Any published rollup attributes can be selected for the Send Email action.
- Published rollup attributes that are searchable, can be included in Rules
Note: Since Rollup table audit fields aren't publishable, they don't show up in actions and rules.
Rollup attributes are not available for event routines.
