Request an Override for an Insufficient Funds Budgetary Control Failure
While submitting a requisition using the Responsive Self Service Procurement application, you can now request an override if the funds check process failed due to insufficient funds in the control budget and the control budget is set up to allow for overrides.
Funds Check Failed but Override is Available
Submit Requisition with Option to Request an Override
This feature can help prevent delays in emergency procurement. By requesting an override, the requester can go ahead with an emergency purchase instead of waiting for funds to be made available in the control budget.
Steps to Enable
Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.
Offering: Procurement
If you want to use the Request an Override for an Insufficient Funds Budgetary Control Failure feature, then you must opt in to its parent feature: Procure Goods and Services Using the Responsive Self Service Procurement Application. If you’ve already opted in to this parent feature, then you don’t have to opt in again.
Tips And Considerations
- The option to request an override is only displayed if you have the Request Budgetary Control Override (XCC_REQUEST_BUDGETARY_CONTROL_OVERRIDE_PRIV) privilege. The funds check failure is due to insufficient funds and the override option is available for the control budget. To learn more about the conditions required for requesting an override, refer to the Funds Override for Requisitions topic.
- You must provide a justification when requesting an override.
