Secure Catalog Content By Internal Deliver-to Locations for Shopping

Secure catalog content by internal deliver-to locations when shopping in the Responsive Self Service Procurement application. Before this update, content zones could be secured only by requisitioning BUs or workers.

If your business needs to provide catalog content access to specific locations such as stores, hospital wards, and buildings, you could only secure by workers from those locations.

With this feature, you can secure local catalogs, punchout catalogs, smart forms, and public shopping lists by internal deliver-to locations for requisitioning usage. This option gives more flexibility and saves the effort otherwise required to set up and maintain the content zones by workers.

Secure content zones by deliver-to locations

Secure Content Zones by Deliver-to Locations

While securing the content zone by locations, you can select the locations from:

  • Location SETs of the requisitioning BUs to which the content zone's procurement BU is a service provider
  • Common location SET

In order for users to access content during shopping, the Deliver-to Location set in the user's Preferences must be assigned to a content zone. In addition, the requisitioning BU must be a client of the Procurement BU of the content zone.

To illustrate with an example, assume this use case:

  • You want office supplies to be available to all the workers in the Spruce Hospitals requisitioning BU.
  • You have specific agreements and punchout catalog available only for Pediatrics, Building 3, NY that's setup as an internal location in the system.

Here's how you can set up the content zones:

Catalog Content

Secured By

Office Supplies

  • Office Supplies local catalog that gives access to office supplies only.
Requisitioning BU = Spruce Hospitals

Pediatrics

  • Local catalog with specific agreements for pediatrics
  • Specific punchout catalog
Deliver-to Location = Pediatrics, Building 3, NY

Catalog content will be available to the workers in different cases as follows:

  • For the workers with the location Pediatrics, Building 3, NY in their preferences for the requisitioning BU Spruce Hospitals, content from both the content zones will be available.
  • For the workers with a different location in their preferences for the requisitioning BU Spruce Hospitals, only the content from the Office Supplies content zone will be available.
  • If the location Pediatrics, Building 3, NY is a global location, for the workers with the location Pediatrics, Building 3, NY in their preferences for a different requisitioning BU, content from the Pediatrics content zone will be available provided the procurement BU is a service provider for the requisitioning BU selected.

Offering: Procurement

If you want to use the Secure Catalog Content By Internal Deliver-to Locations for Shopping feature, then you must opt in to its parent feature: Procure Goods and Services Using the Responsive Self Service Procurement Application. Tips And Considerations

  • You can assign up to 3000 deliver-to locations to a content zone.
  • You can use query by example to further filter the location results.
  • You can secure the content zone by deliver-to location when the content zone is used for requisitioning only.
  • You can use the content zones REST resource with Visual Builder Add-in for Excel to assign or remove deliver-to locations in bulk.
  • Content security is applied only during catalog shopping. After you have added an item to the cart, any subsequent changes either in the Content Security Configuration or on the line won't be considered.
  • The content zones can only be secured by internal deliver-to locations. If you select an external address in your preferences, then the catalog content from these content zones won't be available.
  • Content zones secured by deliver-to locations are applicable only in the Responsive Self Service Procurement application and excluded in the Purchase Requisitions application. That means the content won't be shown in the application even if your deliver-to location in preferences is assigned to the content zone.
