Create Multiple Distributions on Requisitions

You can now create requisition lines with multiple distributions to allocate costs to multiple charge accounts and projects using the Responsive Self Service Procurement application. You can also use distribution descriptive flexfields (DFF) using the Responsive Self Service Procurement application.

A new Billing section is available when you edit the line from the Shopping Cart. Before this release, the charge account and project details were shown along with the delivery details because only a single distribution was supported. The Billing section displays distribution information in a read-only mode. It shows the total of all distributions for the line and the details of each distribution.

This how you can personalize the Billing section:

  • Hide the total row or specific attributes such as Charge account, project number or task number, quantity, and percentage on individual distribution rows.
  • Enhance the distribution summary information by adding project costing attributes such as Expenditure Type and Expenditure Organization.
  • You can make the Quantity, Percentage, Amount, Budget Date, and Charge Account attributes hidden, read-only, or mandatory in the Distribution drawer.

Steps to Enable

Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

Offering: Procurement

If you want to use the Create Multiple Distributions on Requisitions feature, then you must opt in to its parent feature: Procure Goods and Services Using the Responsive Self Service Procurement Application. If you’ve already opted into this parent feature, then you don’t have to opt in again.

Tips And Considerations

  • When you split a distribution, the details of the charge account, distribution flexfields, and project information are copied over. You must then provide the quantity, percentage, and amount attributes for the new distribution.
  • By default, each requisition line will only be created with one distribution. You can split the distribution to create additional distribution rows as required.
  • You can't split or delete a distribution on a requisition line with the Inventory destination type.
  • You can't delete a distribution if there is only one for a given line.
