Create Multiple New Subinventories and Locators Simultaneously

When creating a new inventory organization, you'll need to create multiple new subinventories and locators as part of your warehouse setup. If you have a large number of subinventories and locators to create, this can quickly become a tedious process. Now you can create multiple new subinventories, locators, item subinventory associations, and item locator associations using a file upload process directly from the Configure Subinventories task.

You'll now be able to access the new Create New Subinventories action by selecting it from the Actions menu on the Subinventories page.

Create New Subinventories

Once you click the new Create New Subinventories action, the Create new subinventories drawer opens and you can choose to select templates to download depending on your use case. There are four templates available to download:

• Create subinventories
• Create locators
• Create item subinventory associations
• Create item locator associations

You can now upload filled templates and click the Submit button. This submits the tasks for creating subinventories, locators, item subinventory associations, and item locator associations simultaneously.

You can check the status of the tasks submitted on the Action Status page. Once the tasks are successful, you can query the subinventories and other entities created through the Subinventories page.

This feature provides you the ability to speed up your warehouse setup by creating multiple subinventories, locators, and item associations simultaneously.

Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

Tips And Considerations

Now you can create multiple subinventory, locator, item subinventory associations, and item locator associations simultaneously without using existing subinventories by using CSV templates from the enhanced Redwood pages.

• You can access this feature using the Manage Subinventories and Locators on Redesigned Pages opt-in feature in the Inventory Management functional area.

• You can access this feature using the Configure Subinventories task from both the Inventory Management work area and the Setup and Maintenance work area.

• You can check for the status of tasks submitted or any errors encountered while performing the mass creation tasks on the subinventories by downloading the error file from the Action Status page.

• You can upload either some or all 4 CSV templates to create many subinventories, locators, item subinventory associations, and item locator associations.

• If you upload a locator or item subinventory association template alone, then ensure that the corresponding subinventories already exist.

• If you upload an item locator association template alone, then ensure that the corresponding locators already exist.
