Copy Measure Data Between Plans with Different Customer Aggregation Levels

Prior to this update, you could plan at an aggregate customer level in Oracle Demand Management by using the Manage Planning Level Profiles page. With this update, you can move measure data from a plan configured to plan at an aggregate level using the Load Measures from Other Plans page in more scenarios as follows:

  • You can copy measure data from a demand plan that’s configured to plan at a specific level of the Customer dimension to another plan that’s configured to use a different level of the Customer dimension.
  • You can copy measure data from a demand plan configured to plan at an aggregated customer level to a demand or sales and operations plan that’s using the Customer Site level, which is the lowest level of the Customer dimension.

With this capability, you can gain performance by reducing the volume of data that’s considered in your plan in addition to comprehensively covering the scenarios that may require you to move data between plans.

The Load Measures from Other Plans page, and the related Orchestrate Load Measures Processes scheduled process, have been enhanced to support the copying of measure data in the following scenarios:

  • From a demand plan with a planning level profile to another demand plan without a planning level profile
  • From a demand plan with a planning level profile to another demand plan with a different planning level profile
  • From a demand plan with a planning level profile to a sales and operations plan for which the Use global demand checkbox is selected and Customer Site is selected in the Planning Customer Level field on the General subtab on the Supply tab on the Plan Options page
  • From a demand plan with a planning level profile to a sales and operations plan for which the Use global demand checkbox isn’t selected

These enhancements are in addition to the previously released enhancements for copying measure data between plans as follows:

  • Within a demand plan with a planning level profile.
  • From a demand plan without a planning level profile to a demand plan with a planning level profile
  • Between demand plans with the same planning level profile
  • From a sales and operations plan with the Use global demand checkbox selected and Customer Site selected in the Planning Customer Level field to a demand plan with a planning level profile
  • From a sales and operations plan with the Use global demand checkbox not selected to a demand plan with a planning level profile

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

  • To use these enhancements, after updating Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain Planning to 24D, you must first run your demand plans that use planning level profiles with the Refresh with current data option selected on the Parameters tab in the Run Plan dialog box.
  • When you’re copying measure data between a demand plan with a planning level profile and a sales and operations plan, ensure that the Customer dimension hierarchy for the planning level profile is present in the dimension catalogs for both plans.
  • You can’t copy measure data between a demand plan with a planning level profile and a sales and operations plan for which the Use global demand checkbox is selected and Zone is selected in the Planning Customer Level field.
