Review Inventory Value Using New As-of Date Inventory Valuation Report

You can now view and report on inventory values as of any selected date. The report provides greater flexibility in inventory and financial operations by offering precise and accessible inventory value data on a specific date, thereby ensuring accurate decision-making and audit compliance. You can run this report from the Scheduled Processes work area.

Here are some of the advantages this feature provides:

  • The report can be run for any as-of date in the past.
  • The report supports multiple summarization levels:
    • All Cost Organizations under a Ledger.
    • For a Cost Organization:
      • Item and Valuation Unit
      • Item and Inventory Organization
      • Item and Subinventory

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

  • The reports augments existing Period Inventory Valuation Report and the Inventory Valuation page and should be used for viewing inventory valuation for a past date.

  • For your accounting and month-end reconciliation purposes, use the existing period reports.

  • This report computes inventory balances for any as of date by using the prior period ending inventory balance as base and adds value of receipts and issues from that date till the as-of date specified by the user.

  • You must run the reports processor on a frequent basis to ensure that the data is current in the report and there are no mismatches with the period reports and the Inventory Valuation page.
