Configure Decimal Precision on Emission Factor and Emission Fields
Two new profile options, Condensed Decimal Precision and Expanded Decimal Precision, are introduced to configure the decimal precision for displaying emission factors, measures, and emissions on the Sustainability Activities and Emission Factor Mappings pages. Use these profile options to set an optimal decimal precision for your data that enhances comprehension and readability.
You can search for these new profile options as follows:
- In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the Manage Sustainability Profile Options task:
- Offering: Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management, Product Management, or Procurement
- Functional Area: Sustainability
- On the Manage Sustainability Profile Options page, click Search.
- From the search results, look for and select the profile options listed in the following table:

By default, the value of these profile options is set to 5. You can increase or decrease this value depending on whether you need a higher or lower precision, respectively. The condensed option is more suitable for the decimal display of attributes, such as Measures, CO2e, and Total CO2e, that require relatively lower precision. On the other hand, the expanded option is ideal for attributes such as Factor and Emissions that require higher precision. This is illustrated by the following example:
Suppose you set the value of the Condensed Decimal Precision profile option to 2 and retain the value of the Expanded Decimal Precision profile option at its default value of 5. The following tables and screenshots illustrate how these two profile options reflect the configured decimal precision on the user interface, with some values requiring higher precision and others needing lower precision.

NOTE: The configured decimal precision is applicable only when viewing data. While creating or editing activities or emission factor mappings, you'll see the values as entered, and they are saved without any rounding. Emission calculations also use the full available precision, and not use the rounded values.

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- When decimal precision settings are applied to the user interface (UI) display in the read-only mode, the values are rounded based on the configured precision, not truncated.
- The decimal profile option that applies to a given attribute is fixed.
- For values displayed in a table layout where comparison across rows is required (for example, values in the Total CO2e column on the Sustainability Activities page), Oracle Sustainability uses zero padding to show the decimal places (for example, 25,301.00 Kilograms). This makes comparison easier. When such comparison is not necessary, decimal places are shown only when needed (for example, 25,301 Kilograms).
