Manage VMI Network Using a New User Experience

You can now use the Redwood user experience to manage a VMI network. Using the VMI Network task, you can create, view, edit, and delete vendor-managed inventory relationships and relationship attributes.

Using this task, you can create relationships at both the organization and sub-inventory level. Additionally, you can specify who is responsible for creating replenishments and defining minimum and maximum quantities

Here are a few things you can perform on the VMI Relationships page:

  • Search by item and filter results by supplier, organization, subinventory, item, status, or scope to review relationships and their attributes.
  • Click the + icon to create a new relationship.
  • Select a relationship and click Edit to update all editable attributes, including the effectivity period, collaboration details, service-level details. This will also provide visibility to all planners with access to the relationship.
  • Select a relationship and click Data Access Security to view a list of VMI analyst with access to it.
  • Select a relationship and click Delete to delete a relationship.

When creating or editing a relationship at the organization level, you have the following options:

  • Set the status to Active or Inactive
  • Set the Min-Max Quantity Source to Supplier or Enterprise
  • Define a Requisition Requestor specific to the give relationship.

When creating or editing a relationship at the subinventory level, you have the following options:

  • Set the status to Active or Inactive.
  • Add, edit, or delete a subinventory.
  • Set the Min-Max Quantity Source to Supplier or Enterprise for each subinventory.
  • Define a Requisition Requestor specific for each subinventory.

NOTE: You can change the scope of any relationship to subinventory or organization as needed

Steps to Enable

Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

Offering: Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management

If you want to use the Redwood: Manage VMI Network Using a New Experience feature, then you must opt in to its parent feature: Vendor-Managed Inventory. If you’ve already opted in to this parent feature, you don’t have to opt in again.

Follow these steps to enable or disable this feature:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, search for and select the task Manage Profile Options for Supply Chain Collaboration.
  2. On the Manage Administrator Profile Values page, search for and select the profile option code ORA_VCS_VMI_NETWORK_PAGE_REDWOOD_ENABLED.
  3. In the Profile Values section, set the Site level to Y or N. The default value is N.
  • Y = enables the feature
  • N = disables the feature
  1. Click Save and Close. Changes to the profile value will take effect the next time users sign in.

Access Requirements

Users who are assigned a configured job role that contains these privileges can access this feature:

  • Manage VMI Network Relationships (VCS_MANAGE_VMI_RELATIONSHIPS_PRIV)
