Display Current Product Price in the Shopping Search Results
Display the current price of products in the shopping search results, even if the pricing varies from month to month or quarter to quarter, in the Redwood Self Service Procurement application. You can now manage product pricing that changes over time using agreement lines. These agreement lines can have a start date and an expiration date, allowing you to specify the period during which the price is valid. You can have multiple lines for the same product with different effective periods, each holding the price for that specific period. Before this release, you had to rely on price breaks to maintain pricing that varies by period, and requesters wouldn’t know the current price until the item is added to the cart.
Effective Dates for Agreement Lines
Current Price on the Product Details page
Price Based on the Requested Delivery Date
Price Applied to the Item
This feature enhances the shopping experience in the application, as requesters can see the actual price of the item in the search results and on the Product Details pages before adding the item to the cart. In addition, you can see other details from the applicable BPA line, such as item description, revision, and supplier item reflected in the cart.
Steps to Enable
Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.
Offering: Procurement
If you want to use the Display Current Product Price in the Shopping Search Results feature, then you must opt in to one or both of these features:
-
Enable the Redwood Version as the Default Self Service Procurement Application: Makes the Purchase Requisitions (New) work area available to all your users, and hides the Purchase Requisitions work area from all your users.
-
Procure Goods and Services Using the Redwood Self Service Procurement Application: Keeps the Purchase Requisitions work area available to all your users, and makes the Purchase Requisitions (New) work area available to the users who are assigned this privilege: Manage Requisition with the Responsive Self Service Procurement Application (POR_MANAGE_REQ_WITH_PWA_PRIV).
If you’ve already opted in, then you don’t have to opt in again.
- In addition, you need to opt in to the Specify a Start Date for Blanket Purchase Agreement Lines feature in the Purchasing functional area to create BPA lines with a start date.
Tips And Considerations
- Don't use the feature with the Use Order Date to Determine the Price on Purchase Orders feature, which uses the application date to determine the price break applicable to the requisition line.
- Whether you create requisitions in the Redwood Self Service Procurement UI, or through the requisition import program, this feature uses the requested delivery date to determine the blanket purchase agreement line with the period during which the price and other attributes are valid.
