Receive FYI Notifications when a Recall Notice is Ingested

You can now receive an FYI notification when a recall notice is ingested into the Product Recall Management application in Pending Acceptance status.

When recall notices are ingested—whether by the Oracle curation service, your providers, or through the Capture and Validate Recall Notices REST resource—the Validate Recalled Parts scheduled process runs automatically. This process:

  • Validates recalled parts to derive specific item identifiers.
  • Determines whether the items were received during the designated recall tracking period.
  • Marks recall notices with Pending Acceptance status when applicable.

You will receive an FYI notification listing all recall notices created in Pending Acceptance status for each scheduled process request.

Click the List of New Recall Notices title in the notification to navigate directly to the Recall Notices landing page for review and acceptance.

By default, notifications are sent to users provisioned with the Product Recall Manager job role. However, you can configure a business rule in BPM Worklist to send notifications to different users based on:

  • Device classification by recalling firm
  • Classification by regulatory authority

This feature streamlines recall management by automating notifications for relevant recall notices. Benefits include:

  • Clear visibility with a comprehensive list of validated recall notices.
  • Improved efficiency by enabling direct navigation from the notification to the recall notices landing page.
  • Reduced manual effort and enhanced compliance with regulatory requirements.

This update ensures a more proactive, efficient, and compliant recall management process.

Steps to Enable

No mandatory configuration is required to enable this feature. However, if you need to send notifications to additional users beyond the Product Recall Manager role, follow these steps:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, use the Manage Task Configuration for Supply Chain Management task:
  • Offering: Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management
  • Functional Area: Facilities
  1. In the BPM Worklist page, navigate to the Task Configurations tab and search for RecallNoticesCaptureFYI.
  2. Define FYI notification rules using the following attributes:
  • Device classification by recalling firm
  • Classification by regulatory authority
