Synchronize Asset Location Changes Between Installed Base and Fixed Assets

Synchronize location changes between installed base and fixed assets to ensure that you have up-to-date and accurate operational and financial information about your assets. The location of an installed base asset can be synchronized with the associated fixed asset if the installed base asset is serial-controlled and the fixed asset unit quantity is one.

How do you sync the location changes

Update the location for an installed base asset and run the Connect and Synchronize Fixed Assets to Operational Assets schedule process. After the process completes successfully, the location changes get synced to the corresponding fixed asset.

For a successful sync, ensure that:

• The installed base asset you're updating has a fixed asset associated to it.
• The fixed asset is eligible for sync, wherein, the Eligible for Sync checkbox is selected for the fixed asset.

This feature lets you eliminate the manual effort to ensure consistency between your operational and financial asset information.

Steps to Enable

Enable the opt in feature, Synchronize Change Between Installed Base and Fixed Asset for Asset Termination to allow data sync between installed base and fixed assets.

Tips And Considerations

From this update, you can synchronize location changes for the following:

• Serialized installed base asset associated to a fixed asset that has an asset quantity of one
• Installed base assets that have a location type set to internal address or inventory
• Transfer orders that change the location of an installed base asset
• Subinventory transfers that change the location of an installed base asset

NOTE: The operating organization of the installed base asset must be on the same fixed asset corporate book for the integration to be successful.

You can't synchronize location changes for the following:

• Lot-controlled assets
• Nonserialized assets
• Plain items
• Installed base assets that have a location type set to work center, external address, customer address, or unknown
• Multiple fixed assets associated to an installed base asset
