Analyze Manufacturing Work Definitions Using Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence or OTBI

Managing a high volume of manufacturing work definitions across products requires flexible, efficient reporting capabilities to easily identify work definitions that need review and update. As work definitions provide the foundation for planning collections, work orders, orderless completion transactions, and the cost rollup process, you need to ensure the accuracy and completeness of work definitions for new product introductions and for engineering and manufacturing change management scenarios, such as quantity updates and new materials.

With this feature, you can use the Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) subject area Manufacturing – Work Definitions Real Time to create and view ad hoc work definition reports, analyses, and dashboards. You can ensure the readiness of work definitions for downstream processes, such as supply planning, work execution, and costing. You can also save and export a work definition report, or create a report URL in OTBI to share with internal and external stakeholders for increased visibility of manufacturing setups and build plans.

Tips And Considerations

• You can't use the Manufacturing - Work Definitions Real Time subject area in OTBI to report on configured item work definitions, deleted work definitions, or maintenance work definitions.
• The Work Definition dimension in the Manufacturing - Work Definitions Real Time subject area is currently not a common dimension, unlike the Work Definition dimension in the other Manufacturing subject areas.
