Redwood: Enable Deferred Electronic Record and Electronic Signature for Manufacturing Work Definitions Using the Redwood User Experience

Approve a manufacturing work definition version by reviewing its electronic record and capturing electronic signatures through a deferred approval workflow using the Redwood user experience.

With this update, the manual creation and update of manufacturing work definitions through the user interface support the creation of an electronic record and the deferred capture of an electronic signature. Deferred notifications are sent to the approvers to review the electronic record and capture the electronic signatures.

The work definition version status now displays the current status of its approval process that works in conjunction with the approval workflow. The submitted work definition version remains in Pending Approval status until all approvals are complete. The work definition version status changes to Approved status on electronic signature approval and Draft status on rejection.

A new work definition version is defined only when the version is in draft status. After approval is granted, the work definition version cannot be modified. If you must make subsequent changes to an approved work definition including its operations, materials, and resources, you must create a new draft version with a new operation to reflect the changes, and submit it for approval again.

The following screenshot shows the submission of the work definition:

Review and approve the electronic record in the deferred approval window, as shown below:

Work definition approval using electronic records and electronic signatures enforces final signoff, ensuring a proper stage gate before release to work execution, planning, and cost planning.
