Minimize the Impact on the Plan Runtime After Measures Are Removed
Oracle continuously looks at opportunities to improve planning cycle times at your enterprise by optimizing the technical processes to run faster and eliminate unnecessary steps. This update introduces an automated process to improve plan runtime. You can now remove measures from the measure catalog used by a plan without significantly increasing the plan run time. Previously, removing stored measures from a plan could result in increased plan run times. The process has now been reengineered for greater efficiency, potentially leading to reduced planning runtimes.
When a stored measure is removed from the plan measure catalog, it’s deleted from the plan data table the next time the plan is run with the Refresh with current data option. Deleting a stored measure may take a considerable amount of time if the measure contains a large amount of data. Performance improvements have been made to this process to reduce the time required to delete a stored measure.
