Automatically Ship Confirm Goods After Manual Pick Confirmation

In certain scenarios, you need to consider a shipment confirmed immediately after all the goods on that shipment are pick confirmed. For instance, you're using intraorganization transfer orders to move goods from your central stockroom to satellite stockrooms located in other buildings within a multiple building campus. When your materials staff are picking goods for these types of orders, they put the goods in delivery carts and take them directly to the other building once all of the goods are picked. In this situation, opening and confirming the shipment is an extra step that isn't necessary in your fulfillment flow. Now, you can decide to automatically ship confirm a shipment once all of the goods in the shipment are pick confirmed.

To set the lines eligible for this feature, enable the Automatically ship on manual pick confirmation processing criterion while creating a pick wave from the New Pick Wave page.

  • This criterion is hidden by default and can be made visible using business rules in Visual Builder Studio’s Express mode.
  • Once enabled, you must also specify the Ship Confirm Rule to be used for shipment confirmation.
  • All lines in the pick wave created with this option will be eligible for auto ship confirmation during pick confirmation.
  • This option applies only to manual pick confirmation. When it is enabled on the pick wave, Autoconfirm Picks will be disabled, and vice versa.

You can also set the Automatically ship on manual pick confirmation criterion on the Pick Wave Release Rules page and have it default onto the pick wave using the release rule.

Additionally, you can configure the Automatically ship on manual pick confirmation parameter on the Shipping Parameters page to default the setting for all pick waves across the organization. This default value can be overridden on the pick wave release rule or pick wave.

During pick confirmation, the system checks if the line belongs to a pick wave with Automatically ship on manual pick confirmation processing criterion enabled. If so, it verifies whether all lines in the shipment are Staged. If all lines are staged, the shipment is automatically ship confirmed using the specified Ship Confirm Rule.

If a line is not assigned to a shipment, it will not be automatically ship confirmed. If shipment confirmation fails for any reason, the line will remain in Staged status.

This feature helps you improve the efficiency of your outbound operations by allowing you to remove the manual ship confirm step after pick confirmation.
