Redwood: View Distributions Summary by Reference Number

The Cost Transactions and Distributions page introduced in update 25B has been enhanced so that you can quickly view the desired information and take necessary actions.

Distribution Summarization by Reference Number: Search by reference number now includes the ability to view a consolidated summary of distributions for a particular reference number. You can now quickly understand the distributions for a reference number without navigating through individual transactions. Some of the key enhancements introduced are:

  • Distributions Summary Scorecards: You can now view the summary of all the distributions for a particular reference number in the context of a cost organization, cost book, and accounting line type.  This can help you to quickly identify anomalies, if any. You can also view detailed distribution entries. Summary scorecards are only visible if the cost book filter is applied or Primary Book filter is set to Yes on the Costing Transactions and Distributions page.
  • Distribution Details: You can now view details of all the distributions created for all the transactions for a particular reference number. 
  • Export All Distributions: You can also export all the distribution lines into a spreadsheet for offline analysis.

Multiple Transaction Navigation: The Costing Transactions and Distributions page now allows users to select multiple transactions and seamlessly navigate between distributions, transaction details, and error information using the Next and Previous buttons, eliminating the need to return to the main page after viewing each detail.

Some of the benefits of this feature include:

  • Summary Scorecards for Distributions: Offers a consolidated view of cost distributions enabling faster analysis and issue identification.
  • Aggregated Analysis: You can efficiently analyze aggregated cost distributions associated with specific reference number, enabling more precise financial assessments.
  • Faster Reconciliation and Error Detection: Quickly identify anomalies or missing data in distribution amounts without scanning through all lines individually.
  • Spreadsheet Export: Export all summarized and detailed distribution lines into a spreadsheet for offline review, reconciliation, or reporting.
  • Enhanced User Experience: This seamless navigation reduces repetitive actions, minimizing user efforts.

Steps to Enable

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, search for and select the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
  2. On the Manage Administrator Profile Values page, search for and select the ORA_CST_REVIEW_COST_ACCOUNTING_DISTRIBUTIONS_REDWOOD_ENABLED profile option code.
  3. In the Profile Values section, set the Site level to Yes. The default value is No.
    • Yes = enables the feature
    • No = disables the feature
  4. Click Save and Close. Changes in the profile value will take effect the next time you sign in.

After you've set the profile value correctly, the task pane under Cost Accounting would show the task menu link as Costing Transactions and Distributions. Using this link, you can access the Redwood page.

Tips And Considerations

  • Summary scorecards will only be displayed if the Primary Book filter is set to Yes or value for cost book is provided.
  • Summary scorecards are displayed in the context of the cost organization, cost book, and accounting line type.

Users who are assigned a configured job role that contains the following privilege can access this feature:

  • Review Cost Distribution (CST_REVIEW_COST_DISTRIBUTIONS)
  • Review Cost Distribution by Web Service (CST_REVIEW_COST_DISTRIBUTIONS_WEB_SERVICE)
