Redwood: Manage Work Orders That Have A Project And Task

With this update, you can manage project-specific work orders in Maintenance Supervision and technicians can search for and complete project-specific work orders on My Maintenance Work. 

Maintenance Supervision

Manage project-based work orders in project-enabled organizations in Maintenance Supervision. The Work Orders tab now has two new attributes for Project Number and Task Number. These fields allow you to map work orders to their projects and tasks. Here's a screenshot of the Work Orders page, that shows a sample work order mapped to a sample project and its task via the Project Number and Task Number fields.

You can also use project number and task number as filters to quickly locate the project-specific work orders.

The Work Orders details page contains a new section for Project details and has the following new attributes: Project Number, Task Number, Expenditure Item Date, Expenditure Type, Expenditure Organization, Contract Number, and Funding Source. After you select values for Project Number and Task Number, other fields automatically default. You can modify these details when you create or edit an unreleased maintenance work order.

Maintenance Execution

In this update, you can execute project-specific maintenance work orders using My Maintenance Work for project-enabled organizations.

Search for work orders and operations with new filters for Project Number and Task Number to quickly locate project-specific work orders. The work order rows in My Maintenance Work page also contain new attributes for Project Number and Task Number. Here's a screenshot of a work order that's associated with a project and a task related to a project-enabled organization.

Reference the project and task number when issuing materials on the Materials tab and when reporting resource transactions on the Resource tab during work execution. The new Use Common Inventory check box for a component, highlighted in the screenshot below, is selected based on the item setup, and if selected, the material is transacted from the common stock to the project-based maintenance work order.

You can use Maintenance Supervision and My Maintenance Work to support project-driven supply chain and manage your supply chain processes in the context of projects.
