Analyze Workstation Execution Data Using Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence

Smart Operations for Manufacturing lets operators use the operator workbench to execute production at a workstation, which is an assigned location where operators perform their jobs. This location can be a workbench, an equipment, or a group of equipment. Operators check in to workstations, start and stop execution of work order operations, report progress made against targets set by supervisors, and maintain an updated status of the workstations to ensure that the business has real-time metrics on safety, productivity, and quality.

With this feature, you can use the Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) subject areas — Manufacturing - Workstation Performance Real Time, Manufacturing - Workstation Checkin Activities Monitoring Real Time, and Manufacturing - Workstation Execution Activities Monitoring Real Time — to create analyses that display real-time workstation availability metrics, check-in history with operator time spent at workstations, and work order operation execution history, respectively.

The Manufacturing—Workstation Performance Real-Time subject area lets you analyze the workstation's Idle, Down, and In-Use times.

Using OTBI to analyze activities performed at workstations provides you with real-time visibility of workstation performance, operator time spent at workstations, and work order operation execution metrics.

Here's the demo of these capabilities:

Steps to Enable

Leverage new subject area(s) by adding to existing reports or using in new reports. For details about creating and editing reports, see the Creating and Administering Analytics and Reports book (available from the Oracle Help Center > your apps service area of interest > Books > Administration).

There are no specific steps to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

  • You can integrate the analysis created using this OTBI subject area into your Production Supervision dashboard pages and the Work Execution landing page. To do this, you must first create an analysis in OTBI. You can then define OTBI-based KPI and visualization using the Visualization Configurations tool. To create a KPI for the OTBI analysis, specify metric card as the visualization type. To create a visualization, specify bar chart, pie chart, tabular chart, and so on as the visualization type. The Visualization Configurations tool can be accessed using the following URL:

  • For more information on workstations, the operator workbench, and production supervision capabilities, you can refer to the following 24C, and 25A features :
