Inspect Flow Schedules at the End of the Production Line Using the Operator Workbench

Embedding quality control in flow schedule execution ensures high-quality products for the production line. Operators follow a quality inspection plan by recording quality results against specific characteristics.

With this update, you can now record final inspection results while completing the product in a flow schedule from a workstation at the end of the production line. A predefined inspection plan is automatically selected and enforced at the last operation based on the corresponding work definition for the flow schedule. You are prompted to enter the inspection results and complete the flow schedule quantity as completed or scrapped according to the system-automated inspection disposition.

Perform Quality Inspection for the Flow Schedule at a Workstation Assigned at the End of the Production Line

Operators can use a unified interface for inspecting flow schedules at the end of the production line, ensuring real-time visibility into the quality of items produced.

Here's the demo of these capabilities:

Steps to Enable

Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

Offering: Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials ManagementNo Longer Optional From: Update 26A

Follow the steps below to execute flow schedules at a workstation:

  1. Opt-in to the 25C feature - "Execute Flow Schedules at a Workstation".
  2. Associate a workstation with a production line.
  3. Optionally, assign the workstation to a line operation sequence in the production line.
  4. Define an inspection plan for the item.

Tips And Considerations

  • You can't report a rejected quantity for a flow schedule at this time. You can either report a completed quantity into a specified subinventory and locator or report a scrap quantity for disposal.
  • You can't perform an ad hoc inspection against a flow schedule at this time.
  • A common practice is to create a flow schedule to manufacture a product as a single piece flow on a production line and define an inspection plan to inspect the product at a 100% inspection level.
