Redwood: Define Additional Fields for Data Entry while Performing an Inspection
You can now enable descriptive flexfields on the Redwood-enabled Inspection Page to capture additional, business-specific inspection data that complements the standard set of quality attributes. This feature provides your organization with greater flexibility to tailor the inspection experience to your operational needs.
These user-defined fields are fully integrated into the Redwood-enabled Inspection Page and can be configured at two levels:
-
Inspection (event) level, where the entered data is applicable to the entire inspection
User-Defined Fields for the Entire Inspection
-
Sample result level, where the entered data applies only to a single result value
User-Defined Fields for Sample Results
This allows inspectors to enter and view their own inspection information during the inspection process. For example, you can capture operational parameters, environment-specific observations, customer-specific requirements, or any other data points that are important to your quality process.
By supporting additional context-specific inspection data, this enhancement improves the accuracy and completeness of inspection results, strengthens traceability, and enhances compliance with internal and external quality standards. It also helps streamline your inspection workflows and improves decision-making by capturing a more complete picture of product quality at the point of inspection.
This feature is particularly useful for manufacturers and regulated industries that need to document and review rich inspection data to meet audit, compliance, or customer-specific reporting requirements.
- Enables greater flexibility in tailoring inspections to meet specific business or operational needs
- Allows capture of rich, context-specific inspection data for improved accuracy and completeness
- Enhances compliance with both internal policies and quality standards
