Redwood: Include Item Details from Product Information Management When You Search

If you enable a redesigned page in Oracle Supply Chain Orchestration, then you must rebuild your search index so your search results have details about your item.

Get the details that you need about your item from your inventory organization when you search.

Steps to Enable

Enable the Feature

  1. Go to My Enterprise > Available Features.
  2. On the Features Overview page, click Available Features, then search the Feature attribute for Search Items Using the New User Interface.
  3. Enable this feature in the row that has the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management Enable offering.

Add Attributes to the Index

  1. Go to the Product Information Management work area, then click Tasks > Configure Index.
  2. On the Index Management page, click Item.
  3. On the Item page, Click Enable Attribute Sets, enable the Supply Chain Orchestration attribute set, then click Apply.
  4. Notice that the Item page displays a message, like Index rebuild required, then click Rebuild. You'll get an option to build now or in the future. Build it now.
  5. Notice that the Item page displays a message, like Process submitted Job 44416.

Provide Access

Add the person who must access data in the search. For this example, assume that's WHSE_MGR_1 in the M1 organization:
xxxxxxxxxxx

  1. Go to the Setup and Maintenance work area, click Tasks > Search, then search for and open Manage Item Classes.
  2. Search the Item Class attribute for Root Item Class.
  3. Examine the Public option. If it's enabled, then you don't need to set up security. You can quit this procedure.
  4. In the search results, click Root Item Class.
  5. On the Edit Item Class page, click Security, click Actions > Add Row, then set the values.
