Redwood: Manage Additional Attributes for Maintenance Work Definitions

Organizations use work definitions to create templates that outline operations, resources, and materials for maintenance work orders.

Now, the Work Definitions page has two new attributes that allow organizations to provide further details required to standardize work orders. The new attributes are a couple of checkboxes that are used to allow:

  • Out-of-sequence completion
  • Completion of inventory

Here's a screenshot highlighting the two new checkboxes available on the edit and create pages of Work Definitions.

The Allow out-of-sequence completion checkbox ensures that when a work order is created from this work definition, operations can be completed even if earlier operations are incomplete on the work order.

When you select the Allow completion to inventory checkbox, additional fields for Completion Subinventory and Locator appear. Maintenance teams can provide values for the fields to ensure that when the work order is completed, the chosen subinventory and locator are used. The Allow completion to inventory locator ensures that when a work order is created from this work definition and the operations are completed, the asset can be transacted into inventory.

The feature would ensure that additional attributes and values are captured in work definitions to provide a consistent framework during work order creation.

Steps to Enable

This feature is enabled only if the following features are opted in:

  • Assign Assets for Repair to a Maintenance Work Order and Return to Inventory After Repair
  • Maintain Multiple Assets of the Same Item on a Single Work Order
