Report Operation Outputs Efficiently Using Industrial Handheld Devices

In today’s dynamic manufacturing environments, timely and accurate reporting of output transactions is essential to maintaining production flow and data integrity. Shop floor personnel require flexible tools that allow them to record output as it occurs, without being limited by fixed workstations or paper-based processes. Sturdy industrial handheld mobile devices are key enablers that support data entry and access anywhere on the production floor.

This update enables reporting of output transactions in real time using industrial handheld mobile devices. You can scan or enter output quantities when reporting outputs, such as primary products and by-products for work order operations. You can report outputs for both discrete and process manufacturing work order operations.

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

The following functions are not supported when reporting output using handheld devices:

  • Specifying country of origin details.
  • Modifying item revision.
  • Specifying packing unit during the transaction if the organization is warehouse enabled.
  • Specifying descriptive flexfields for item/lot/serial.
  • Displaying project and task detail in the output item list.
    In addition, the list of subinventories for completing products includes restricted subinventory and locator details.

Access Requirements

Users who are assigned a configured job role that contains these privileges and codes can access this feature:

  • Manage Production Reporting Work Area (WIP_MANAGE_PRODUCTION_REPORTING_ WORK_AREA)
    This privilege allows access to the Production Reporting work area to report production transactions using handheld devices and is a new privilege in this update. Roles mapped to this privilege - Production Operator.
  • Report Material Transactions (WIP_REPORT_MATERIAL_TRANSACTIONS_PRIV)
    This privilege was available prior to this update.
