Set an Inactivation Date for a Workstation

Manufacturers often use equipment resources at workstations, which may not be available for use after a certain period due to maintenance, age, or compliance needs. To support better control and planning of shop floor resources, you can now use the Manage Workstations page to set a future date on which a workstation becomes inactive. After this date, operators are prevented from checking in or performing any work execution activities on the inactive workstation. This enhancement helps ensure that production activities are scheduled only on available workstations and that transitions for workstation maintenance, repurposing, or decommissioning are managed smoothly.

  • Operational Control: Reduce errors and disruptions caused by operators attempting to use unavailable or decommissioned workstations.
  • Streamlined Transitions: Facilitate smoother maintenance, upgrades, and workstation retirements by automatically managing workstation status changes.
  • Enhanced Compliance and Safety: Enforce usage restrictions for workstations undergoing regulatory, safety, or maintenance procedures.
