Refine Shopping Search Using Filters
Refine the results from the shopping search using filters in the Redwood Self Service Procurement application. You can filter the search results using additional criteria such as Category, Item Source, Manufacturer, or Supplier.
These filters are available on the following pages:
- Shopping Search Results
- Sarch Results when using Shop by Category
- Viewing Smart Forms
When you use a keyword to return matching results, the filters will display with a matching count of results.
Filters with Counts of Matching Results During Shopping
You can use the filters to refine your search further. While the filters Category, Supplier and Manufacturer are self explanatory, let's discuss the filter entitled Item Source a bit more. There are 5 sources that available:
- Local: Includes master items and agreement lines with or without master items.
- Smart form: Includes all smart forms.
- External store: Includes punchout catalogs.
- External store item: Includes punchout catalog items.
- Informational catalog: As shown.
With this filter, if you wanted, for instance, to only view results matching punchout catalogs you can refine the results right away.
You can use these filters on the Smart Forms page to refine the results based on your requirements.
Use Filters to Refine Smart Form Results
You can similarly use this feature in the search results when using the Shop by Category feature.

Offering: Procurement
If you want to use the Refine Shopping Search Using Filters feature, then you must opt in to one or both of these features:
- Enable the Redwood Version as the Default Self Service Procurement Application: Makes the Purchase Requisitions (New) work area available to all your users, and hides the Purchase Requisitions work area from all your users.
- Procure Goods and Services Using the Redwood Self Service Procurement Application: Keeps the Purchase Requisitions work area available to all your users, and makes the Purchase Requisitions (New) work area available to the users who are assigned this privilege: Manage Requisition with the Redwood Self Service Procurement Application (POR_MANAGE_REQ_WITH_PWA_PRIV).
If you’ve already opted in, then you don’t have to opt in again.
Tips And Considerations
- To provide a consistent user experience, the Item Source column in the table view of shopping search results also use the same labels as the filter values such as Local and External item store.
- All suggested filters will contain a default value, which is the value with the highest frequency.
- You can search within each of these filters using keywords that will then return appropriate results using a 'Contains' search.
