Trace Par Locations Based on Item Subinventory Associations

You can now track recalled items in par locations that are not quantity-tracked, using item subinventory associations in addition to traditional transaction history.

Previously, recall containment actions relied solely on transaction records, limiting visibility to locations with receipt or transfer transactions. With this enhancement, the application now creates trace details and recall tasks not only for locations with transactional evidence but also for all par subinventories associated with the recalled item, even when no movement history exists.

By leveraging item-to-par subinventory associations, Product Recall Management ensures comprehensive recall containment across all potential storage areas. This is especially valuable for non-quantity-tracked par subinventories, where material movement often occurs outside system transactions, making full traceability challenging. The new feature automatically identifies relevant par locations and generates the necessary containment actions - enhancing risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.

Business Benefits

  • Strengthens regulatory compliance and reduces operational risk.
  • Enables faster, more comprehensive recall responses, ensuring no potential storage location is overlooked.
  • Provides greater confidence for recall managers and supply chain stakeholders in managing product recalls across complex or high-volume environments.

Steps to Enable and Configure

Tips And Considerations

Recall tasks are created for par locations based on item subinventory associations only if there is at least one purchase receipt or miscellaneous receipt for the recalled part in any perpetual or par location across any organization during the recall period for which the Locate Recalled Parts scheduled process was executed.
