Redwood: Configure Collaboration Messaging
You can now use a Redwood page to configure parameter values that control how Collaboration Messaging processes outbound and inbound messages.
These are the parameters that can be defined on the page:
Trading Partner Search Configuration
- Default Service Provider: The drop-down list shows predefined service providers in Collaboration Messaging. The selected provider becomes the default in the Trading Partner ID selection dialog when editing supplier B2B configurations.
Message Storage: If these options are deselected, the system will not store the source or transformed outbound and inbound documents.
Message Payload Logging
- Maximum Message Payload Size: If the original or transformed payload exceeds the specified size, it won’t be logged. If no size is specified, all payloads will be logged.
Outbound Message Processing
- Global Sender ID: Identifies the sender of all outbound messages.
- Sender ID Type: Type of identifier of the Global Sender ID. For example, D-U-N-S.
- Maximum attachment size: The maximum size of embedded attachments that can be included in a message.
- Minimum In-Process Duration: The minimum amount of time that an outbound message must be in process before any action can be taken on it.
Large Outbound Purchase Order Processing
- Large PO Delivery Duration: Specifies how long the PO delivery attempts should continue. This value is in minutes and must be greater than the Large PO Delivery Attempt Interval.
- Large PO Delivery Attempt Interval: Defines how often PO delivery attempts occur. This value is in minutes and must be less than the Large PO Delivery Duration.
- Large PO Minimum Line Count: Specifies the minimum number of lines required for a purchase order to be considered large.
- PO Lines Retrieved in a Single Query: Defines the number of PO lines retrieved at a time.
Inbound Message Processing
- Maximum Inbound Payload Size: Sets the maximum allowable inbound payload size that Collaboration Messaging will accept for processing.
Messaging History
- Default Messaging History Display Duration: Sets the default date range for messaging history displayed on the B2B Messages page.
Automatic Message Reprocessing
- Reprocessing Window: Defines the past time period during which messages with errors will be included for reprocessing. This value is in hours.
- Reprocessing Interval: Determines the frequency at which messages are reprocessed. This value is in minutes.
Delivery Method Types: Value for Maximum Message Size for your Delivery Method Type. This value represents the total size of the message and any attachments. If a message exceeds this limit, Collaboration Messaging will not process it and will log the status as Error or Failed.
Key Collaboration Messaging configuration parameters are centralized onto a single page, enabling faster, more intuitive setup and ongoing adjustments—streamlining administration and improving operational efficiency.
Steps to enable and configure
You can access this functionality by enabling the feature Simplify Configuration and Processing for B2B Messaging or this profile option: ORA_CMK_COLLABORATION_MESSAGING_CONFIGURATION_REDWOOD_ENABLED
- In the Setup and Maintenance work area, search for and select the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
- On the Manage Administrator Profile Values page, search for and select the ORA_CMK_COLLABORATION_MESSAGING_CONFIGURATION_REDWOOD_ENABLED profile option code.
- In the Profile Values section, set the Site Level to Yes or No.
- Yes = enables the feature
- No = disables the feature
- Click Save and Close.
- After enabling the Redwood page, you need to log out and log in again to access the Collaboration Messaging Configuration task from the task panel.
Tips and considerations
- When Simplify Configuration and Processing for B2B Messaging is enabled, you can launch Collaboration Messaging Configuration from the Newsfeed quick actions. In the next update, it will also be available from the Actions menu on the Redwood landing page.
- The Default Service Provider option will not be applicable when the feature Simplify Configuration and Processing for B2B is enabled.
- The visibility of the Large Outbound Purchase Order Processing section is controlled by the Retrieve Large Purchase Order Payloads for B2B Messaging feature.
- The Manage Collaboration Messaging Configuration task is still accessible through the Setup and Maintenance search in this release. However, with future updates, this task will no longer be available via that search method if the Simplify Configuration and Processing for B2B Messaging feature is enabled.
